With the help of the Municipal Art Committee—created in 2005—Avondale is also committed to public art for the purpose of beautifying the city and to bring residents together as a community to enjoy and experience art. Pieces of Avondale’s public art collection include paintings, sculptures, mosaics, a veteran’s memorial walkway, and more. The city’s downtown center on Western Avenue is even transforming into an Art’s District. There are boutiques and studios that are related to art and culture for visitors to enjoy. Art lovers can also visit Catitude Gallery and Studio, which is an art center for the community to use. Visitors can view pieces by a variety of artists and participate in workshops to learn how to create their own art pieces. The rich culture of Avondale really does have something for everyone.
