Frank Sinatra was laid to rest in a blue business suit with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, a pack of Camel Cigarettes, a Zippo lighter and a roll of dimes amongst other items next to his parents in section B-8 of Desert Memorial Park on Thursday May 14th 1998.

Francis Albert Sinatra first came to fame as an ‘idol for bobbysoxers’ in the 1940s. “Bobbysoxers “ was a term used to describe young women, referencing the knee-high socks they wore to school as part of their uniform. A report in the “New Republic” stated that the wait on opening day of his picture in a New York cinema led to a line that wrapped through the city streets and increased rather than decreased as the day went on. The theatre showed the film on repeat, and one young woman sat through 56 consecutive performances.
